Official: Nearly 500 Iraqi Displaced People Poisoned In Khazir Camps

Around 500 Iraqi displaced people have been poisoned after eating foods distributed by an organization in the camps in Khazir east of Mosul.

Health Director in Erbil, Saman Barznji said on Monday (June 12) that the foods were distributed by RAS Organization in the camps on Monday evening.

“There are some poor health conditions from those who have been poisoned and they are under health surveillance,” the director added.

Iraqis who were displaced due to the battle for Mosul have been settled in Khazir Camp. The camp was built before the operation to liberate Mosul began in October last year. It is home to 5000 Iraqi displaced people now.
