French Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs Arrive In Erbil
French Foreign Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian and French Defense Minister Florence Parly arrived on Saturday (August 26) in Erbil, where they are expected to meet with Masoud Barzani.
Le Drian and Parly were received by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Deputy Prime Minister, Qubad Talabani.
Earlier on Saturday, Iraq's Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari welcomed his French counterpart Le Drian and Parly, to Baghdad.
Le Drian and Parly are on a visit to the country on Saturday (August 26) to enhance relations between France and Iraq.
Iraqi state television reported that French officials also held talks with Iraqi officials over the fight against the Islamic State (ISIS) and stabilization efforts in the recently liberated areas as well as increased humanitarian assistance to the displaced families.
France is a main partner in the U.S.-led coalition against Islamic State (ISIS) helping Baghdad to fight the militants who seized parts of Iraq and Syria in 2014.
